Can you start advocating it? Cannabis is necessary for the brain, and there’s not only safety but availability in numbers. Plus, I can’t crawl out of this freegin’ Hell hole where there’s no weed because the economy’s crushed my industry.

I could be wrong, btw, since I’m not in Japan – I’m just basing my comments on what I’ve read from from Americans living in Japan. Maybe there’s a double standard regarding foreigners and celebs or different enforcement by locale or something I’m missing…

Wow, you must have been talking to one cool cop. Please don’t encourage people to try marijuana in Japan. The law is extremely harsh on pot. Foreigners can EASILY get banned from Japan for LIFE based on possession of a tiny amount of pot. Use is rare and wild misunderstandings about the drug are common. Please check around on this one – there are lots of accounts of Japanese sumo wrestlers getting humiliated and kicked out of the sport for simply smoking. Can you imagine a better way to bulk up than to smoke pot? My god, nobody munches like a stoner. Japanese celebrities get in huge trouble, foreign residents married to Japanese citizens get kicked out for LIFE based on tiny amounts of pot possession… Anyway, I respect the Japanese a great deal, and they are certainly smarter than us (I’m American) in a lot of ways, but not when it comes to marijuana.
